Automated calibration of advanced cyclic plasticity model parameters with sensitivity analysis for aluminium alloy 2024-T351

Abstract: The plasticity models in finite element codes are often not able to describe the cyclic plasticity phenomena satisfactorily. Developing a user-defined material model is a demanding process, challenging especially for industry. Open-source Code_Aster is a rapidly expanding and evolving software, capable of overcoming the above-mentioned problem with material model implementation. In this article, Chaboche-type material model with kinematic hardening evolution rules and non-proportional as well as strain memory … Show more

“…The calibration of the cyclic plasticity model was described briefly in this paper and was used with experimental data available for 08Ch18N10T. In future work, an automated process for identifying material parameters could be prepared in a similar way as in [16]. Some authors of this paper also work on the material parameters identification using results from DIC measurements in order to reduce number of necessary specimens for recently expensive technologies of 3D printing of metals [17].…”

“…φ ∞ is the value of φ for n = N d , where N d is the number of cycles after which the crack occurs on the specimen and the force starts to drop during the experiment. From Equation (16), φ ∞ is then set as a function of R used M by finding material parameters…”

“…The use of an interesting CABLE element was demonstrated, which was also used in paper (Cheng et al, 2022) that deals with a dynamic response of the fish farming cage (net) to hydrodynamic forces. The paper (Peč et al, 2019) investigates the cyclic plasticity material models included in Code_Aster. The stresses induced by thermal conduction are examined in (Cherednichenko et al, 2020).…”

“…The information collected through in-situ surveys and ambient vibration tests were used to build and calibrate the numerical model (NM) of the tower. The NM, realized in Salome-Meca software© [21], [22], is an accurate representation of the real construction, and accounts for all the geometrical variations and discontinuities of the structure.…”
