Autism ‘Super Mums’: Affectivity as a Political Capital in Special Mothering and Autism Advocacy

Abstract: From the refrigerator mother theory to more recent comparisons to ‘warrior-heroes’, mothers of children with autism spectrum disorders have been historically categorised as emotionally remarkable.
