Aureobasidium pullulans produced β-glucan is effective to enhance Kurosengoku soybean extract induced Thrombospondin-1 expression

Abstract: Black yeast, Aureobasidium pullulans is extracellularly produced β-(1,3), (1,6)-D-glucan (β-glucan) under certain conditions. In this study, using Glycine max cv. Kurosengoku (Kurosengoku soybeans), the production of β-glucan through fermentation of A. pullulans was evaluated, and the effects of A. pullulans cultured fluid (AP-CF) containing β-glucan made with Kurosengoku soybeans (kAP-CF) on a human monocyte derived cell line, Mono Mac 6 cells were investigated. Concentration of β-glucan in kAP-CF reached the… Show more

“…Aureobasidium pullulans secrets soluble β‐glucan consisting of a β‐(1,3)‐linked glucose main chain and β‐(1,6)‐linked glucose branches. Oral administration of the A. pullulans –derived β‐glucan prevented development of fatty liver in mice on high‐fat diets 72 . β‐glucans are mainly known as immune stimulators.…”

“…In addition, they contain many biologically active substances, such as isoflavone, which prevents adult diseases; saponin, which excels in preventing cancer; and lecithin, which reduces cholesterol levels. Thus, soybeans are often utilized as health products ( Muramatsu et al., 2017 ). Furthermore, soybean proteins have been used as additives to enhance the quality characteristics of meat products, and previous studies have been conducted into incorporating vegetable proteins into meat products to fulfill the role of meat or fat ( Park et al, 2020 ; Polizer et al, 2015 ; Tarté et al, 2020 ).…”

“…Fungal products might also be developed as therapies although the potential health benefits, or probiotic effects of some fungal species are known but have yet to be fully explored [ 86 ]. Only Aureobasidium pullulans obtained from administrated black yeast prevented the develop of fatty liver in mice on high-fat diets [ 99 ].…”
