Abstract:Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy are reported as the second leading root of maternal morbidity and mortality in Zanzibar. Evidence shows that the majority of pregnant women in Zanzibar are referred late from lower-level healthcare facilities, and majority develop complications of eclampsia.
