Atypical Carcinoid of the Larynx

Abstract: A 79-year-old man presented with a 3-week history of odynophagia and foreign body sensation in the throat. He had smoked 20 cigarettes a day for almost 40 years, but he had stopped about 30 years ago.Videolaryngoscopy revealed a red, pedicled lesion, <1.5 cm in diameter, on the laryngeal aspect of the epiglottis, with intact, smooth covering mucosa.
