Abstract:In the isolated, blood-perfused canine right atrium, which was pretreated with propranolol, negative chronotropic and inotropic responses were evoked by stimulation of the intramural parasympathetic nerve fibers or by intra-arterial infusion of acetylcholine (ACh).
