“…In human attachment relationships, problems arise not only from active mistreatment, but also from passive neglect (Cassidy and Shaver 2016). In other contexts, people often seek out social support from others in response to important needs in their lives (Gleason and Iida 2015;McLeod et al 2020), and when people do not listen or respond to these requests for support, they can fail to meet important needs for care, affirmation, and love. People who do not feel heard, understood, and affirmed, as though they do not have a real "voice" in a relationship, tend to feel dissatisfied, as shown in the close relationship literature (Jones et al 2018;Kuhn et al 2018).…”

“…Notably, this tie is various in strength, and those stronger attachments can evoke stronger feelings of satisfaction, trust and commitment. Brand attachment is critical for modern enterprises: it helps their customers differentiate the focal brand from their competitors, obtain social support and social self-efficacy (McLeod et al , 2019); it also promotes customers' repeated purchase, customer citizenship, increase firms' financial performance and market value (Hwang et al , 2019). An online brand community is a powerful medium for enterprises to cultivate brand attachment of current and potential customers in the internet era (Zhang et al , 2021a).…”

“…Therefore, users' showing an avoidant pattern from other "Instagrammers" probably echoes the avoidant attachment with their romantic partner. This being said, the general propensity to avoid others in social interactions could be explained by negative representation of conspecifics and unfavourable internal working models which prevents the individuals from trust and social engagement [88,27,89]. It is likely to assume that avoidant users are inclined to social withdrawal from collective situations which could evoke a sense of discomfort and inappropriateness [90].…”
