Abstract:In this research, we prepared hydrophobically modified agarose‐g‐poly(N,N‐dimethylamino‐2‐ethyl methacrylate) via the “grafting from” ATRP technique. First, agarose was hydrophobically modified by acylation of some of its OH groups with palmitoyl chloride. Then, the macroinitiator for ATRP was prepared by acylation of some remaining hydroxyl groups of agarose palmitate with 2‐bromopropionyl bromide. Finally, graft copolymerization of N,N‐dimethylamino‐2‐ethyl methacrylate from agarose macroinitiator was carrie… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
