Soil is an important resource to promote increased maize yield, which can occur through an efficient soil tillage system, this being directly linked to the sowing process. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of tillage systems in an Ultisol and sowing rate on soil physical and agronomic attributes of the maize hybrid BRS 1055. The experiment was conducted in randomized blocks in subdivided plots with four replications, with soil tillage in the plots -moldboard plow + off-set harrow of 24" (T1), off-set harrow of 22" (T2), off-set harrow of 24" (T3) and chisel + off-set harrow of 24" (T4), and the following maize sowing rates: R1 -5.1 km h -1 , R2 -8.7 km h -1 and R3 -10.7 km h -1 . In the soil, the following variables were determined: soil density, soil porosity and soil penetration resistance (RP); and in the crop: plants per meter, plant height, first ear insertion height, viable ears, stem diameter, ear length, number of rows, number of grains per row and yield. Soil density and total porosity did not show differences between soil tillage systems. There was variation of RP in the 0.30-0.40 m layer, due to the depth and type of tillage performed for each implement. The rate variation provided changes in all agronomic attributes of the maize crop, while the soil tillage systems only affected plant height at 30 days after sowing.Additional keywords: agricultural mechanization; maize hybrid BRS 1055; Ultisol. ResumoO solo é um importante recurso para promover o aumento da produtividade do milho, o que pode ocorrer por meio de um sistema de preparo do solo eficiente, e que também esteja ligado diretamente ao processo de semeadura. Assim, objetivou-se avaliar a influência dos sistemas de preparo em Argissolo Amarelo e a velocidade de semeadura sobre os atributos físicos do solo e agronômicos da cultura do milho híbrido BRS 1055. O experimento foi conduzido em blocos ao acaso, em parcelas subdivididas com quatro repetições, sendo realizados os preparos de solo nas parcelas -arado de aivecas+grade off-set de 24" (T1), grade off--set de 22" (T2), grade off-set de 24" (T3) e escarificador+grade off-set de 24" (T4), com velocidades de semeadura do milho: V1 -5,1 km h -1 ; V2 -8,7 km h -1 , e V3 -10,7 km h -1 . No solo, foram determinadas: densidade, porosidade e resistência do solo à penetração (RP), e na cultura: plantas por metro, altura de planta, altura de inserção da primeira espiga, espigas viáveis, diâmetro de colmo, comprimento da espiga, quantidade de fileiras, quantidade de grãos na fileira e produtividade. A densidade e a porosidade total do solo não apresentaram diferenças entre os preparos do solo. Ocorreu variação da RP na camada de 0,30-0,40 m, devido à profundidade e ao tipo de preparo realizado para cada implemento. RESUMOO preparo do solo tem por objetivo fornecer condições ideais ao estabelecimento e desenvolvimento de culturas. Desde o surgimento de implementos para o preparo de solo, existe a preocupação em realizar a melhoria dos mesmos. Os maiores avanços foram no sentido de aumentar a aptidão dos trabalhos realizados pelos conjuntos de máquinas, no sentido de aperfeiçoar técnicas do preparo propriamente dito. O terraceador é um implemento agrícola muito utilizado para fazer curvas de nível em terrenos inclinados. Os ângulos de corte dos discos de um terraceador tem interferência na profundidade de penetração do disco no solo, na altura e largura do camalhão, o que varia seu formato. O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar a eficiência dos diferentes ângulos de ataque do terraceador no solo cearense. O trabalho foi realizado na Universidade Federal do Ceará. O solo utilizado para realizar os ensaios foi um solo Argissolo Vermelho Amarelo. Foi utilizado um trator Valtra A950 para tracionar o terraceador. Em seguida foram realizados 3 operações de terraceamento em parcelas de 50 metros para os ângulos de 90°, 100° e 110°. Posteriormente foi realizada a medição da base maior, base menor e altura da curva de nível. Foi utilizada a estatística descritiva básica para avaliar os dados. Foi utilizado o software Microsoft Excel e o software Minitab -Versão 16 para analisedos dados.Palavras-chave: Ângulos de corte; Discos; Argissolo Vermelho Amarelo. RESUMO:O manejo do solo inadequado, aliado a uma baixa fertilidade do solo, constitui um dos principais fatores limitantes da produção pecuária nas regiões tropicais. Objetivou-se neste trabalho avaliar a produtividade de duas espécies de plantas forrageiras submetidas a três sistemas de preparo do solo, obtendo as correlações entre produtividade de matéria seca e índice de área foliar, em função do período de crescimento. O experimento foi instalado em esquema de parcela subsubdividida, no delineamento em blocos casualizados, com quatro repetições. Somente o manejo do solo, o período e a interação entre o período e a forrageira apresentaram diferença considerada significativa (p < 0,05) em relação à produção de matéria seca e índice de área foliar. Porém, estatisticamente, o manejo do solo não apresentou diferença significativa na interação com o tipo de forrageira. Os sistemas de manejo do solo utilizados influenciam na produção de matéria seca, independentemente da forrageira, sendo que o preparo convencional apresentou melhores resultados. PRODUCTIVITY OF FORAGE PLANTS SOIL MANAGEMENTABSTRACT: The handling of the ground inadequate, ally to one low fertility of the ground, constitutes one of the main limitantes factors of the cattle production in the tropical regions. The objective was influences to study it of system of handling of the ground on the productivity of forrageiras in terms of productivity of dry substance. The experiment was installed in project of parcel sub-subdivided in the delineation block-type with four repetitions. Only the handling of the ground, the period and the interaction between period and the forrageira had presented considered difference significant (p < 0,05) in relation to the production of dry substance and index of foliar area. However, statistical the handling of the ground did not present significant difference in the interaction with the type of forrageira. The systems of used handling of the ground influence in the production of dry, independent substance of the forrageira, being that the conventional preparation presented better resulted.KEYWORDS: soil management, crop forage, soil physical attributes.
