Abstract:BACKGROUNDReactive arthritis is a form of spondyloarthritis characterized by sterile synovitis induced by an extra-articular infection, usually of the genitourinary and/or gastrointestinal tract. The most common cause is Chlamydia trachomatis, but Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Ureaplasma urelyticum are also implicated.
