Abstract: Amplification and overexpression of TP63 and MYC, and HPV integration rate, are associated with the transition of CIN to cervical cancer. Future studies on these biomarkers will help to assess the risk of CIN progression.

“…For example, upregulation of p120ctn was seen in 37 % of gastric dysplasia cases and 66 % of gastric carcinoma cases in one study, sometimes associated with reduced membranous expression [ 31 ]. Also, c-myc copy number gain has been found to play a key role in the process of disease progression in cervical dysplasia [ 32 , 33 ]. CDX2 staining has shown varying results in gastric neoplasia.…”

“…It thus makes it possible to identify a panel of useful tumor-associated antigens (TAAs) for the development of antibody-based test for early diagnosis of cervical cancer. Increased expression of baculoviral IAP repeat-containing protein 5 isoform 2 (BIRC5) and myc proto-oncogene protein (MYC) have been reported in cervical cancer [1,10,20] ; to our knowledge, it has not been documented whether antibodies against BIRC5 and MYC proteins are also increased in this malignant disease. Accordingly, the present work was undertaken to detect circulating IgG antibodies for BIRC5 and MYC among patients with cervical cancer and control subjects in a Chinese population.…”

“…In recent years, the excessive surgical treatment of CIN has caused a series of adverse effects, including infertility, miscarriage, premature delivery, cervical insufficiency and cesarean section in subsequent pregnancies. This has caused great physical and mental stress, especially in young patients with childbearing desires, and has thus become a focus of investigation, 4 , 5 as understanding the factors that predict progression of CIN is of critical value.…”
