In this work, we analyse and demonstrate possible strategies to explore extended Higgs sector of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). In particular we concentrate on heavy Higgs decays to electroweakinos. We analyse the Higgs to electroweakino decays in the allowed MSSM parameter space after taking into account 13 TeV LHC searches for supersymmetric particles and phenomenological constraints such as flavour physics, Higgs measurements and dark matter constraints. We explore some novel aspects of these Higgs decays. The final states resulting from Higgs to electroweakino decays will have backgrounds arising from the Standard Model as well as direct electroweakino production at the LHC. We demonstrate explicit kinematical differences between Higgs to electroweakino decays and associated backgrounds. Furthermore, we demonstrate for a few specific example points, optimised analysis search strategies at the high luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) run. Finally, we comment on possible search strategies for heavy Higgs decays to exotic final states, where the lightest chargino is long lived and leads to a disappearing track at the LHC.

We consider a class of generalizations of the Skyrme model to five spacetime dimensions (d = 5), which is defined in terms of an O(5) sigma model. A special ansatz for the Skyrme field allows angular momentum to be present and equations of motion with a radial dependence only. Using it, we obtain: 1) everywhere regular solutions describing localised energy lumps (Skyrmions); 2) Self-gravitating, asymptotically flat, everywhere non-singular solitonic solutions (Skyrme stars), upon minimally coupling the model to Einstein's gravity; 3) both static and spinning black holes with Skyrme hair, the latter with rotation in two orthogonal planes, with both angular momenta of equal magnitude. In the absence of gravity we present an analytic solution that satisfies a BPS-type bound and explore numerically some of the non-BPS solutions. In the presence of gravity, we contrast the solutions to this model with solutions to a complex scalar field model, namely boson stars and black holes with synchronised hair. Remarkably, even though the two models present key differences, and in particular the Skyrme model allows static hairy black holes, when introducing rotation, the synchronisation condition becomes mandatory, providing further evidence for its generality in obtaining rotating hairy black holes.

Higher-order topological insulators (HOTIs) or multipole insulators, hosting peculiar corner states, were discovered [1,2]. It was independently discovered [3] that continuum 5-dimensional (5D) Weyl semimetals generically host the corner states, and so do 4D class A and 3D class AIII topological insulators. In this paper we further confirm that the 5D Weyl semimetals, upon dimensional reduction, lead to universal higher-order topology. First we explain a discrete symmetry protecting the 5D Weyl semimetals, and describe dimensional reductions of the 5D Weyl semimetals to the popular HOTIs in the continuum limit. We calculate the topological charge carried by edge states of the 5D Weyl semimetal, for the most generic boundary condition. The topological charge is a Dirac monopole, which can also be seen from that edge Hamiltonians are always of the form of a 3D Weyl semimetal. This edge topology leads to the edge-of-edge states, or the corner states, generically, suggesting that the 5D Weyl semimetal is thought of as a physical structural origin of corner states in HOTIs. In addition, we explicitly calculate a nested Wilson loop of the 5D Weyl semimetal and find that the topological structure is identical to that of a Wilson loop of a Dirac monopole.
