Abstract:Lectinas são proteínas de origem não imune, capazes de se ligar a carboidratos e aglutinar células normais e cancerígenas ou precipitar polissacarídeos. Embora isoladas em maior número de plantas, principalmente de sementes de leguminosas, apresentam distribuição universal ocorrendo desde vírus até mamíferos.
