Abstract: The most common cause of obstructive renal artery disease is atherosclerosis, accounting for 90 % of cases of renal artery stenosis. Atherosclerotic renal artery stenosis can be associated with renovascular hypertension, ischemic nephropathy, or both or it may occur alone.
