Atherosclerosis: Viewing the Problem from a Different Perspective Including Possible Treatment Options

Abstract: This paper proposes that atherosclerosis is initiated by a signaling event that deposits calcium hydroxyapatite (Ca-HAP). This event is preceded by a loss of mechanical structure in the arterial wall.
