Abstract:A radially adaptive numerical scheme is developed to solve the Grad–Shafranov equation for axisymmetric magnetohydrodynamic equilibrium. A decomposition with independent solutions is employed in the radial direction, and Fourier decomposition is used in the poloidal direction.
