Asymptomatic bacteriuria in pregnancy screening, risk factors, diagnosis and treatment

Abstract: Background: Asymptomatic bacteriuria is a frequent pregnancy issue that, if left untreated, increases the risk of premature birth and pyelonephritis. Urine culture is the basis for the diagnosis.
