Asymmetric heterogeneous catalytic hydrogenation; is it a useful tool for the synthetic organic chemist?

Abstract: The evaluation of different asymmetric hydrogenation methods is presented: the use of anchored chiral transition metal complexes modified metal catalysts and diastereoselective reactions, partly with chiral synthons. Recent results and perspectives are summarized.
