Abstract:
A 10-year time series of surface salinity values along an estuary-river transition documents their spatial structure and their temporal variability. Decomposition of detided time series into empirical modes indicates that the first mode, explaining almost 95% of the overall variance, has the typical sigmoid spatial structure found in estuaries. The temporal variability of mode 1, referred to as salinity index, displays annual and semiannual signals that are… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
