Associations of Rs3744841 and Rs3744843 Polymorphisms in Endothelial Lipase Gene with Risk of Coronary Artery Disease and Lipid Levels in a Chinese Population

Abstract: ObjectiveThe aim of the present study was to assess the association between the 2037T/C and 2237G/A polymorphisms in the EL gene and the risk of CAD and lipid levels in a Chinese population.MethodsA case-control study including 706 patients with CAD and 315 controls was performed. The polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) method was used to identify the genotypes.ResultsThe EL 2037 T/C polymorphism was associated with CAD risk and HDL-C levels. No significant differences… Show more

“…Total of 626 CAD patients, including 364 myocardial infarction, 226 unstable angina pectoris and 36 stable angina pectoris involved in our study. The diagnosis of CAD was described in our previous study [12], which was in line with the World Health Organization criteria from 1978. The controls also underwent CAG examination in the same period and had a luminal stenosis of < 50% of the major coronary arteries.…”

“…Essential hypertension (EH) and diabetes mellitus (DM) were defined according to features described in our previous report. [ 15 ] Briefly, EH was defined as systolic pressure ≥140 mm Hg and/or diastolic pressure ≥90 mm Hg and/or use of anti-hypertensive drugs. DM was defined as fasting glucose levels ≥7.0 mmol/L and/or use of antidiabetic drugs.…”

“…Based on previous reports (Ueno et al, 2009 , 2010 ; Ishikawa et al, 2010 ; Yan et al, 2013 ; Zhang et al, 2013 ), a total of 14 QTLs (24 linkage markers) were utilized and genotyped in hybrid rice (Supplemental Table 4 ). The Q matrix was obtained with STRUCTURE (version 2.3.4) and the Kinship matrix was obtained with SPAGeDi 1.5 (Hardy and Vekemans, 2002 ). Based on inferred ancestry of the hybrids (Q matrix) and the relative kinship (K matrix), a general linear model (GLM) and a mixed linear model (MLM) were used to detect associations between QTL-markers and grain Cd concentrations using the TASSEL program (version 2.0; Bradbury et al, 2007 ).…”
