Associations of Long-Term Environmental Exposures With Chronic Rhinosinusitis—Tilting at Windmills

Abstract: Future prospective observational studies using well-defined inclusion and exclusion criteria and healthy control populations are imperative to a better understanding of the role that long-term environmental exposures play in the pathogenesis of CRS.Until local, national, and global policies are developed and implemented, we will continue "tilting at windmills," as Miguel de Cervantes wrote in his famed novel Don Quixote, fighting invisible enemies that pose public health threats.
