Abstract: Recent research indicates that inflammation can contribute to the etiology of diabetes which is characterized by hyperglycemia and abnormalities in insulin secretion and/or activity. Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) is the most often utilized laboratory test for detecting systemic inflammation among all plasma inflammatory indicators.
