Abstract: Somatization and number of diseases are interrelated variables, whose association with stress-coping strategies, according to sex, has not been investigated. “…In the multivariate regression analysis, we also observed that being a woman was positively associated with hs-CRP, which could be explained by the presence of menstruation, which was associated with hs-CRP (by the measurement of erythrocytes in urine), the more frequent presence of asymptomatic urinary infections found in this study, as well as with the presence of more reported diseases in comparison with men reported in previous studies [ 37 ]. In addition, the presence of menstruation (detected by the presence of erythrocytes in urine) and urinary infections (detected by the presence of leukocytes and leukocyte esterase in urine) was positively associated with hs-CRP in the global and/or sex-segmented multivariate analyses, which corroborate that these conditions are important contributors of inflammation.…”

“…Stress‐coping strategies are behavioural approaches taken by individuals to deal with stress through modulating their physiology and emotion and reducing discomfort (Brambila‐Tapia et al, 2022; Deklava et al, 2014; Guo et al, 2020). Prior findings showed that nurses adopt various coping strategies when suffering from occupational stress (Hasan et al, 2018; Kim & Kim, 2020).…”
