Association of condensin with chromosomes depends on DNA binding by its HEAT-repeat subunits

Abstract: Condensin complexes have central roles in the three-dimensional organization of chromosomes during cell divisions, but how they interact with chromatin to promote chromosome segregation is largely unknown.
