Association of annexin A10 expression with poor prognosis of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma

Abstract: Background Annexin A10 expression influences the prognosis of several gastrointestinal cancers. We explored the association of annexin A10 expression with the overall survival (OS) of patients who underwent curative surgery for cholangiocarcinoma. Methods Patients who underwent curative surgery for cholangiocarcinoma (except gallbladder cancer) and had pathological stage T1-3N0M0 disease were enrolled. Annexin A10 expression was examined by perform… Show more

“…Moreover, ANXA10 promoted growth of ESCC cell lines via activation of Akt and ERK1/2 pathways ( Kodaira et al, 2019 ). ANXA10 expression was also correlated with poor overall survival in colorectal cancer ( Bae et al, 2015 ), and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma ( Shao et al, 2022 ). In addition, ANXA10 expression was found upregulated in primary and metastatic melanoma and associated with tumor progression, observations reinforced by its promoting role of cell migration in vitro and metastases in vivo ( Zhang X. et al, 2021 ).…”

“…Annexins, including 12 family members, play a major role in the regulation of a broad range of physiological processes linked to cellular membranes [3]. Previous studies have revealed that the aberrant expression of ANXAs is frequently observed in various types of cancer, including cervical cancer [4], bladder cancer [5,6], breast cancer [7][8][9], gastric cancer [10], lung cancer [11,12], oral squamous cell carcinoma [13], hepatocellular carcinoma [14,15], and cholangiocarcinoma [16]. ANXAs may function as either oncogenes or suppressors depending on tumour biology.…”
