Abstract: Objectives: Periodontitis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the periodontium that produces adverse systemic effects including diabetes mellitus, adverse pregnancy outcomes, respiratory illness, etc. Based on new studies, chronic inflammation is speculated as a risk factor for impairment of kidney function.
