Abstract:We present a single-center retrospective analysis of 228 Japanese patients with peritoneal dialysis, in which we examined whether reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) is a risk factor for peritonitis development. Time-dependent multivariable-adjusted Cox proportional hazards models revealed that reduced LVEF (LVEF < 50% vs. preserved LVEF ≥ 50%, hazard ratio (HR) 2.10; 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.16–3.82) was associated with peritonitis.
