Due to the late development of career planning education for college students in China, the areas involved are still imperfect, and the lack of educational experience has led to incorrect understanding of career development planning among college students, and backward career planning strategies and methods, which to a certain extent affects the solution of the employment problem of college students. The study of college students' career planning can help them correctly understand themselves, determine their career development goals and successfully realize their career goals, education, and focuses on the importance of college students' career development. Focusing on the current problems and influencing factors in the process of college students' career development, this paper points out the problems that need to be solved and suggests specific strategies to improve career planning for college students.Lastly, this study assesses the effectiveness of the system in terms of Career expectations, needs, and planning strategies of college students in China. The study utilized descriptive research methods with 408 college students from Hetao College in China. It found that respondents generally have positive attitudes toward career expectations, valuing aspects such as competition, freedom, and entrepreneurship. Career planning and direction are considered crucial, with younger students exhibiting higher expectations and more aggressive planning strategies. This information can aid educational institutions and counselors in providing targeted support. Additionally, the study highlights significant relationships between career aspirations, occupational demand, and career planning strategies, emphasizing the importance of aspirations in guiding career development.

This study examines the relationship between career planning and job satisfaction of Armed Forces personnel in Malaysia. It determines the mediating effect of career development on the relationship between career planning and job satisfaction. This study was conducted because there is negligible attention given to the effects of career planning and career development on job satisfaction, mainly in the Malaysian Armed Forces context. The IBM Social Science Statistical Package (IBM SPSS) application was used in the data analysis using descriptive and inferential analysis. The outcomes displayed three important findings: First, the significant relationship between career planning and job satisfaction. Second, the relationship between career development and job satisfaction was significant. Third, the result statistically confirms that the effect of career planning on job satisfaction is indirectly affected by career development in the organisational sample. Further, the study discusses the contributions and recommendations based on the significant findings. In conclusion, the career planning among Malaysian Armed Forces personnel should be explained and aligned with their career development since it will affect their job satisfaction and increase their work performance in national defence and security.

Graduates who often change their careers, fail to work in the field they are involved in and faced difficulties in the career selection could be related to the problems in their career choice commitment. This study aims to examine the relationship between personality traits and Career Decision Making Self Efficacy (CDMSE) on career choice commitment among undergraduate students of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). This study uses correlational design and involves three questionnaire instruments which are The International Personality Item Pool-Mini (IPIP-FFM), Career Decision Making Self Efficacy-Short Form, and Commitment to Career Choice scale (CCCs). A total of 200 respondents consisting of year 3 and 4 FSSH students were involved in this study. Pearson correlation analysis showed that only openness trait had a significant negative relationship with TTF (r = -. 165) while extraversion trait (r = -186), agreeableness (r = -. 173) and openness (r = -. 165) has a significant negative relationship with VEC. The CDMSE also showed a significant positive relationship with TTF (r = -. 180) and a significant negative relationship with VEC (r = -. 285). Multiple regression analysis that are conducted showed only openness and CDMSE predict TTF. Combination of CDMSE (β = 0.254, p <0.05) and openness trait (β = -0.243, p <0.05) contributed 7.7% (r = 0.293) to the change in TTF variance [F (2, 197) = 9.255, p <0.05]. For the VEC dimension, only extraversion traits and CDMSE be a predictor. Combination of CDMSE (β = .0.263, p <0.05) and extraversion trait (β = -0.145, p <0.05) contributed 9.3% (r = 0.319) to the change in VEC variance [F (2, 197) = 11.190, p <0.05]. This study has implications specially to encourage students to make a good career decision making and enhance their commitment in career selection process. The findings of this study also can inspire the university institution, career counselors, and the community to help students to improve their readiness and self-confidence in career selection process. Several suggestions have also been put forward to encourage students to always be sensitive and actively involved in giving their commitment to career choice.
