Abstract: BackgroundMalnutrition is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular death and may cause protein-energy wasting in individuals with chronic kidney disease. “…All study patients were recruited between July 1 and December 31, 2015 from the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Linkou, Taiwan. Only patients undergoing chronic peritoneal dialysis for more than 6 months were enrolled, after excluding those with malignancies [ 10 ], active infectious diseases, hospitalizations, or surgery in the past 3 months, or lead [ 11 ] or cadmium [ 12 ] intoxication.
