Association Between Autoimmune Diseases and Spontaneous Cervicocranial Arterial Dissection

Abstract: A series of biopsies and reports showed autoimmune diseases might be involved in the process of local inflammation related to spontaneous cervicocranial arterial dissection (SCCAD) occurrence. This retrospective case-control study examined the association between SCCADs and autoimmune diseases in patients and control subjects from 2014 to 2020. SCCAD patients and age/sex-matched control subjects were recruited, and clinical data were collected. SCCAD was confirmed by digital subtraction angiography or high-res… Show more

“…7 Spontaneous CCAD occurs more frequently in autoimmune diseases, possibly caused by an immune-related local inflammation. 8 Postoperative AMI is reported to have an incidence of 0.8 to 1% after EVAR, 5 with a 5.9% mortality rate, while cardiac arrest presents in 0.35% after EVAR, leading to death in 33%. 5 Although AMI after major surgery in MG patients was not increased in one report by Chang et al 9 , there is a paucity of data regarding AMI after vascular procedures in MG patients.…”

“…Meanwhile, lipid metabolism, particularly fasting triglyceride levels, has been established as a significant factor in insulin resistance and diabetes [ 10 ]. Furthermore, its presence in individuals with prediabetes serves as a crucial predictor for the development of diabetes [ 11 ]. Therefore, in the context of metabolic surgery, is there a correlation between lipid metabolism and the remission of T2DM?…”

“…However, this number was predicted to be higher due to its possible asymptomatic variants. 2 It also serves as the etiology of up to 25% cases of acute ischemic stroke under 50 years old, which may reduce quality of life, productivity, and produce significant economic burden. Mortality was less than 5% and good recovery (modified Rankin scale 0-2) may be reached in 75-92% cases of ECAD, but functional recovery from its complication of stroke was similar to any other etiologies of stroke.…”
