Association between ABO blood group and uterine fibroids risk:a case-control study v1

Abstract

The aim of this protocol was to conduct a case-control study between 2144 patients who had uterine fibroids and 1914 age-matched controls. Eligible patients were registered in Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University from January2017 to December 2018. Detailed informations of all participants, such as parity, menopausal status and menarche age wereobtained from electronic medical records. ABO blood group was detected by the examiners in the blood transfusion department through routine clinical trials. Unconditional multivariable logistic regression analysis was applied to evaluate the relationship between ABO blood group and uterine fibroids risk. All statistical analyses were performed by SPSS version21.0 for Windows and statistical significance was described as a P value <0.05. Gene chip data were downloaded from GEO(www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/geo) under the registration number GSE47577 and Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between uterine fibroids and normal myometrium tissue samples were recognized by a web tool GEO2R(www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/geo/geo2r). DEGs were considered when an adjusted P < 0.05 and a |log2fold change|>1.0.
