Objective: To identify the stress factors of the university environment and the repercussions on the quality of sleep and life of students in their last year of undergraduate nursing. Method: A cross-sectional, comparative, quantitative study conducted with students in their last year of undergraduate nursing in a private institution in the south of Minas Gerais. The Instrument for the Assessment of Stress in Nursing Students (ASNS), the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), the WHOQOL-Bref quality of life questionnaire and the sociodemographic characterization questionnaire were applied for data collection; association, comparison and correlation coefficient tests and descriptive statistics were performed for data analysis. Results: The sample consisted of 55 participants. There was a strong correlation between Time Management of stress with sleep and the physical, psychological and environmental domains of quality of life, in addition to the significant association for insomnia and some sociodemographic variables. Conclusion: Stress factors were associated with poor quality sleep and changes in quality of life. Time Management was the factor with the greatest potential for stress. The ninth semester had greater exposure to stressors, worse quality of sleep and life.

Esta investigação teórica tem como objetivo analisar a produção científica sobre a Qualidade de vida de professores atuantes em escolas de Educação Básica. Para operacionalização, realizaram-se buscas nas bases de indexação por meio das equações de pesquisa. Os 15 artigos selecionados foram analisados de forma descritiva. Identificou-se uma predominância de publicações entre os anos de 2011 a 2017. Os professores mais investigados foram os que atuam no Ensino Fundamental e Médio. O instrumento mais utilizado foi o World Health Organization Quality of Life. Os docentes estavam, predominantemente, com uma percepção regular da qualidade de vida e avaliaram como regulares os domínios psicológico, físico e meio ambiente e como positivo o domínio relações sociais. Os pesquisadores atribuem o resultado, da percepção geral e dos domínios da qualidade de vida, às características do trabalho docente, à carga horária, à demanda de planejamento das aulas, ao ambiente escolar, à remuneração e aos benefícios.

Events in industries have shown that a lack of process safety culture has an important contribution in driving the site to fail. The culture is composed of the values, competencies, and attitudes that drive the organization to success. Thus, competency is a core step in developing a proper foundation to implement process safety management (PSM). In the food industry, the competencies related to process safety are not as well developed as in other types of industries. Although the industry has several information and training programs on process safety, such information needs to be organized into a framework to better direct people and assure standardization and sustainment. This case study presents the proposal for a process safety competency framework with the goal to provide the knowledge and skills necessary for people at different levels in the organization to be successful in managing hazards. The competencies are defined in a way to make the contents assertive with the roles and levels of expertise also using the 70%, 20%, 10% methodology of learning and andragogy. As an initial result of this work, we could verify an increase in the leading process safety event registration, which shows an increase of awareness and culture.
