Chad has done the study and development of renewable resources a priority in its energy mix. Wind energy is one of the renewable sources that can help Chad to develop rural areas and preserve the environment. This study presents from data obtained from NASA, the wind characteristics in Amdjarass, and Fada over thirty (30) years. The wind distribution density and energy potential at different heights were evaluated using the Weibull statistical analysis method. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the wind energy potential of two important sites in Chad. The study shows that over the 30 years, the mean annual wind speeds vary randomly between 4.7 m/s and 5.4 m/s over an average period of 2 years. Eight months of good average wind speeds were recorded, ranging from 5.01 m/s to 6.31 m/s at Amdjarass and 4.92 m/s to 5.70 m/s at Fada. The 04 months of low velocities observed are in the range of 3.211 m/s - 4.064 m/s at Amdjarass and 3.504 m/s - 4.516 m/s at Fada. The power density varies between 21.53 W/m2 and 111.89 W/m2 in Amdjarass, while in Fada, it varies from 19.85 W/m2 to 86.92 W/m2.

The Comoros is an archipelago in the Indian Ocean located in the Mozambique Channel between the African continent and Madagascar. Geographically Comoros is composed of four islands: Grande Comores, Anjouan, Mohéli and Mayotte (under French administration). Apart from Mayotte, the others three independent islands commonly known as the Union of the Comoros are suffering from energy stress since their independence year 1975 until nowadays. The energy supplied and distributed by the national electricity company, SONELEC produced by diesel engines, is not stable with so much load shedding all the time. This instability energy leads to a lack of a phone network in some telecommunications towers connected to grid. The majority of telecommunications towers are located in rural areas not connected to grid and running on diesel generators, which once again leads to a problem with the telecommunications network when diesel engines fail. The two competing companies which operate in the field of telecommunications in the Comoros, namely Comores Télécom, a national public company and Telma, the private one, are still unable to ensure the provision of the telecommunications network on a regular basis. This is why we propose in the present work, a sizing of hybrid system composed essentially of a diesel generator, a wind turbine and a photovoltaic solar system with storage in batteries for supplying telecommunications towers in order to permanently ensure the provision of the telecommunications network for the well-being of the population. Our future energy must be based on non-polluting energies with significant resources. Renewable energies are the best candidates but with intermittent production especially in rural areas not connected to the national electricity grid whose energy demand is more important to meet the needs of the population.

Renewable energy exploitation has proved its promising characteristics in sustainably securing energy needs. This work is a comprehensive assessment of the potential of renewable penetration in securing electricity needs in Palestine. Methods of assessment have been determined based on solar potential. Al-Dahriya secondary school in the south Hebron directorate of education was used as a case study, where these building have low working hours all over the year, which will increase the total income of the annual solar energy. AutoCad software simulation program was used to draw the rooftop of the school. The powerful HOMER Pro R software was used for the simulation processes of the PV system and its requirements. Results showed that, the rooftop could accommodate 144 panels, with 57.16 KW. This system will produce 92,866 KWh every year, which could be an input of 5.12% of the total annual power consumption in Palestine if this system installed on every school in Palestine, which are in total 3074 schools. Due to the number of working hours and low energy consumption in schools, the payback period of the project will be 4.38 years. The income of the surplus when installing such project on all schools in Palestine will be around 43 million USD to the Palestinian Treasury every year after the payback period.
