High food waste generation in Malaysia that reached up to 15, 000 tonnes per day assign for major problems towards environment, economy and social aspect. Alternative method had been studied for the past years, but composting was seen among the best possible solution to treat this matter. Composting not only has an environmentally method but it also produces a valuable end product that will benefit in agricultural sector. Further studies had been done in this paper to represent their macro and micro nutrient quality as well as their bioavailability towards plant and the analysis of data collected in both CHNS analyser and mathematical method using ultimate analysis. This study also applied enhanced composting process with its segregation, drying, grinding and standard aeration time. Each container has been rotated for 5 minutes yet different resting time was applied which are 25, 55, 155 minutes namely A, B, C and D within 2 hours period. Result shown that overall Carbon (C), Nitrogen (N) and Sulphur (S) concentration increases as the higher aeration was applied while the Hydrogen vice versa. The highest elemental percentage distribution recorded is carbon (31%) while the lowest recorded is S (0.115%). The data collected from Ultimate Analysis was seen not applicable to be use as it has the same content as food waste after composting. The compound molecular formula recorded was C29H7N5S. Regarding ratio of carbon to nitrogen results, it was found that it ranged from 5.39 to 5.71% for different compost treatment under study, where the lowest value of C and N ratio (5.39%) for sample C and the highest value (5.71%) was obtained for sample B with all has the same C/N ratio which is 6: 1 which suitable range in application of soil amendment. Therefore, this study found a significant relationship between chemical factors and compost formation which contribute to better analysis, especially to food waste management.

Nowadays, food waste is one of the main global paradoxes and raises profound questions from the social point of view. The causes of food losses and food waste are varied and differ according to the various stages of the food chain. The problem of food waste prompted the European Parliament to proclaim 2014 the "European year against food waste" and to adopt a resolution which should lead to a reduction of 50% of waste by the year 2025. This study proposes the possible corrective actions, to be taken at the level of retail distribution and facing the end customer, to achieve the goal reducing of food waste (Fiore et al., 2008). The research was conducted by a group of scholars of the Department of Economics, Business, Environmental and Quantitative Methods, at the University of Messina, on a sample area of eastern Sicily. In particular thirteen retail outlets were analyzed by collecting and processing data on sales, broken down by sector, for the period 2009 to 2013. The research conducted has shown that the food sector that contributes most to food waste, in the area investigated, is that of fruit and vegetables, the study has provided a detailed analysis of the ten most wasted foods. The work finally comes to processes that involve many different scenarios for reducing waste, encouraging a comparison, of the products most wasted, by providing potential solutions or corrective actions aimed at reducing the phenomenon analyzed.

Food waste is the most difficult waste fraction of household waste to manage because it is wet and putrescible. It becomes odorous and it attracts flies and scavengers. When it sticks to other wastes, it reduces the yield of dry recyclables. Home composting has the benefit of proximity but many are unwilling or unable to practise it. Source segregation and storage for kerbside collection and treatment works for many households but not for all, participation is especially low among households in flatted properties. The in-sink food waste disposer (FWD) is used extensively in Australia, New Zealand and the USA but it has been relatively underutilised in Europe. Using data from the published literature, the global warming potentials for landfill, incineration and centralised composting were calculated to be respectively +743, +13 and 214 kgCO 2 e/t food waste; anaerobic digestion was approximately 2170 kgCO 2 e/t food waste irrespective of whether the food waste is delivered by truck or by FWD and the public sewer. Surahammar in Sweden has provided a unique opportunity to assess the impacts of FWD at community scale and compare them with results from laboratory studies and field trials. Over 14 years, FWD installation went from zero to 50% of households voluntarily; 4-weekly influent monitoring data from the wastewater treatment works of the town show that biogas increased by 46% but flow (water use) and chemical and biological load did not change significantly.
