Background Several technological innovations have been introduced in healthcare over the years, and their implementation proved crucial in addressing challenges of modern health. Healthcare workers have frequently been called upon to become familiar with technological innovations that pervade every aspect of their profession, changing their working schedule, habits, and daily actions. Purpose An in-depth analysis of the paths towards the acceptance and use of technology may facilitate the crafting and adoption of specific personnel policies taking into consideration definite levers, which appear to be different in relation to the age of nurses. Approach The strength of this study is the application of UTAUT model to analyse the acceptance of innovations by nurses in technology-intensive healthcare contexts. Multidimensional Item Response Theory is applied to identify the main dimensions characterizing the UTAUT model. Paths are tested through two stage regression models and validated using a SEM covariance analysis. Results The age is a moderator for the social influence: social influence, or peer opinion, matters more for young nurse. Conclusion The use of MIRT to identify the most important items for each construct of UTAUT model and an in-depth path analysis helps to identify which factors should be considered a leverage to foster nurses’ acceptance and intention to use new technologies (o technology-intensive devices). Practical implications Young nurses may benefit from the structuring of shifts with the most passionate colleagues (thus exploiting the social influence), the participation in ad hoc training courses (thus exploiting the facilitating conditions), while other nurses could benefit from policies that rely on the stressing of the perception of their expectations or the downsizing of their expectancy of the effort in using new technologies.

Compared to other appointment methods in public hospitals, registering through the Internet or utilizing e-appointments, or registering online as an outpatient, can provide more information to the user. This research investigated the integration of unified theory of the acceptance and use of technology and information system quality in determining factors that influence the adoption of e-appointments by patients, based on the requirements of food safety consultation in Taiwan. Empirical data from 369 valid samples were assessed using Partial Least Squares (PLS). The key findings of this study indicated that patients’ acceptance of e-appointments was influenced by users’ perceptions (i.e., performance expectancy and facilitating conditions), along with information quality and service quality. The practical and academic implications are provided for future practitioners and scholars, and to enhance patients’ usage of e-appointments in their healthcare activities.

Due to the widespread infection of the coronavirus (COVID-19) over the world, people were forced to stay at home, and technology has been increasingly used in communication, entertainment, and work. This research emphasized the study on the technology usage of Generation Z who are ready and highly skilled in using technology. The purpose of the study was to investigate the influence of key factors affecting the intended use and practical application of Generation Z technology in Cambodia during the COVID-19 pandemic. The researcher chose to use the UTAUT Model to test the research hypothesis. A questionnaire is a research tool used to collect data online. It was found that the sample size was 212 respondents. Descriptive analysis and the partial least square structural equation model (PLS-SEM) evaluation were performed. The results revealed that (1) most of the respondents were male, had under a bachelor’s degree, and monthly income was equal to or more than 312 US dollars, (2) the performance expectancy significantly influenced the behavioral intention, but effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions did not affect the behavioral intention of technology use, and (3) the behavioral intention to use technologies significantly influenced the actual use behavior during the covid-19 situation. This study suggests that technology organizations or businesses should pay attention to the potential benefits of technology for spurring the technology adoption and use of Generation Z people in Cambodia.
