“…The aqueous extract of V. album was able to stabilise the levels of the haematological parameters under examination, despite the toxic effect of cadmium chloride as indicated by the group given only cadmium chloride. It has been reported that cadmium has the capacity to cause the destruction of erythrocytes thereby reducing the level of PCV in different animal models ( Omotoso et al, 2016 ). Our results also show increase in the number of platelets and decrease in the WBC of the experimental rats due to the effect of cadmium chloride.…”
