Abstract: Background: Data show that due to endothelial damage and thrombogenic effects, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection may accelerate the development of atherosclerosis and increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs).
