“…Based on the results of the Turlier et al . study, it can be expected that the high degree of cross‐linking in Etermis ® 3 in combination with the free radical scavenging properties of mannitol acts in concert to limit early hydroxyl radical degradation of the product and contribute to its long‐lasting aesthetic effect.…”

“…We know from in vitro studies that in inflamed tissue the mechanism of HA degradation is predominantly via hydroxyl radicals and occurs at a fast rate during the initial inflammatory period [15]. Based on the results of the Turlier et al [34] study, it can be expected that the high degree of cross-linking in Etermis â 3 in combination with the free radical scavenging properties of mannitol acts in concert to limit early hydroxyl radical degradation of the product and contribute to its long-lasting aesthetic effect.…”

“…Moreover, another advantage of HA is that it is easily degraded by hyaluronidase. The HA filler used in this study, Glytone 3, consists of 23 mg/ml HA in phosphate buffer with mannitol14, which acts as both an antioxidant and a moisturizer15.…”

“… Skin surface texture in crow's feet and infraorbital area measured by profilometry analysis of silicon replicas Evenness of texture assessed by an algorithm for image analysis on standardized digital photographs taken in cross‐polarized light and polarized parallel light. Overall skin condition assessed by subjects, using a visual analogue scale of 0‐10 (wrinkles, fine lines, radiance/brightness of complexion, skin firmness, uniformity/evenness of pigmentation). …”
