“…This skew in gender representation may be attributed to the prevailing socioeconomic dynamics within the study area. One plausible explanation for this distribution is that a significant number of males were actively engaged in income-generating opportunities and various income sources, while females were primarily occupied with household activities (Dawadi et al, 2023). This division of labor reflects traditional gender roles often found in many societies.…”

“…The scale points ranged from 1.0, representing the most serious problems, to 0.2, signifying the least serious problems as 1.0, 0.8, 0.6, 0.4, and 0.2. This scaling approach allowed for a structured and quantitative evaluation of the perceived severity of different issues, aiding in the prioritization and analysis of the challenges faced by the farmers (Dawadi et al, 2023).…”

“…Despite these improvements, the production area has witnessed a decline from 1,486,951 ha in 2013/14 to 1,473,474 ha in 2020/21 (MoALD, 2022). Factors such as the introduction of high-yielding varieties and technological advancements have contributed to this growth (Dawadi et al, 2023;Ghimire & Rauniyar, 2023); however, Nepal's rice production remains comparatively low when benchmarked against neighboring countries and the global average. Spring rice varieties, known for their short growth cycle, resilience to pests and diseases, and potential for high yields, are especially promising.…”
