Assessment of Low Strain Parameters for Seismic Microzonation in Uyo, South-south, Nigeria

Abstract: This study had been executed employing Seismic Refraction Tomography (SRT) and Multichannel Analysis of Surface Waves (MASW), to integrate elastic and bearing capacity with engineering criteria within delineation for seismic microzonation besides menace assessment. Forty-eight and eight SRT and MASW outline through an aggregate distance of about 484 m breathe constrained toward characterizing topsoil variables conducive to site characterization. 12 kg sledge hammers with 1.0 m diameter aluminum disc, twenty-fo… Show more

“…Society is confronted with notable challenges that necessitate the development of solutions for geophysical issues. These di culties include predicting the effects of climate change, measuring air pollution, anticipating increased risks to infrastructure due to natural and manmade disasters, modeling future availability and consumption patterns of water and mineral resources, as well as identifying the causes of earthquakes, landslides, and oods, among others (Aka et al, 2022;Salleh et al, 2021). The examination of these issues lies at the con uence of several academic elds, including physics, geology, hydrology, and others.…”
