Assessment of Cloud Computing Success Factors for Sustainable Construction Industry: The Case of Nigeria

Abstract: Cloud Computing has become a valuable platform for sustainability in many countries. This study evaluates the cloud computing implementation and its Critical Success Factors (CSFs) towards ensuring sustainable construction projects in Nigeria. Data were collected from previous literature, supplemented by a quantitative approach via a questionnaire survey. Data were collected from 104 construction professionals while cloud computing CSFs were examined using Relative Importance Ranking (RII) and Exploratory Fact… Show more

“…The identified constructs were used to design a closed-ended 5-point Likert scale with 5 = very high, 4 = high, 3 = average, 2 = low and 1 = very low as used in many earlier studies [78][79][80]. A closed-ended questionnaire was adopted because of its inherent ability to yield expedient responses from a large survey conducted and low administration costs [81].…”

“…This study utilized the SEM analysis approach; using random stratified sampling techniques, the total 357 surveys were distributed among tanker drivers working in oil and gas transportation companies. The survey was taken in person (self-administrated) and resulted in a high response rate of about 85.9% [89].…”

“…In previous research, the SEM analysis method has been utilized in the transportation sector [101][102][103], the construction industry [84,89,104,105], competitive performance [106], organization and the environment [107,108], and higher education [109]. To test the relationship between safety culture and driving performance, the partial least square (PLS) has been employed to evaluate the impact of safety culture on driving performance.…”

“…The third part of the questionnaire is an open-ended question to encourage the respondents to provide any supplementary criteria that could influence the selection of GBMs, but not included in the questionnaire provided. A five-point Likert scale (1= least agree to 5= extremely agree) is used to rate GBMs criteria, widely used in various previous studies [1], [5], [50].…”
