Assessment of Central Visual Function in Patients with Retinitis Pigmentosa

Abstract: In order to clarify the disease progression in retinitis pigmentosa (RP) and its related factors, reliable data on the changes in central visual function in RP are needed. In this longitudinal study, we examined 118 patients who were diagnosed with typical RP. Visual acuity (VA), visual field using a Humphrey Field Analyzer with the central 10-2 SITA-Standard program, and optical coherence tomography measurements were obtained. The slopes, which were derived from serial values of mean deviation (MD), macular s… Show more

“…The main contribution of this work lies in the separation of the classical and quantum optimisation necessary for the saturation of the quantum Cramér-Rao bound. In the same year, Fujiwara addressed also the same problem, but limited to pure states [67,68]. He also addressed the theory of multiparameter estimation for pure states based on the RLD [69,70].…”

“…Variables of central retinal sensitivity consisted of the best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), the averages of the visual sensitivities (dB) of the central 4 points (foveal sensitivity [FS]) [22] and the central 12 points (macular sensitivity [MS]) [22] of the 10-2 Program of the HFA and mean deviation (MD), as described in Fig 1. The BCVA was measured using a Landolt decimal visual acuity chart (TCU-500; Fuji Kogaku, Tokyo, Japan or VC-60; Takagi Seiko, Nakano, https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pone.0232700.g001…”
