Abstract:Background: Myxomatous Mitral Valve Disease (MMVD) is a commonly presenting and progressive cardiac pathology in dogs, and early medical intervention can delay progression. Current cardiac biomarkers can be useful in advanced clinical MMVD cases, but are unreliable in pre-clinical disease.
