Assessment of Antioxidative and Alpha-Amylase Potential of Polyherbal Extract

Abstract: The present study aims to prepare a polyherbal formulation (PHF) of Azadirachta indica (Neem), Aloe barbadensis (Aloe vera), Allium sativum (garlic), Acacia arabica (Babul), and Aegle marmelos (Bel) and evaluation of antidiabetic and antioxidant activity utilizing the in vitro model. Air-dried powder of 5 medicinal plants, which are divided into equal portions, and PHF, is prepared by the soxhlet technique using polar and nonpolar solvents. The PHF is screened for the phytochemical screening, and then the anti… Show more

“…These are the steps: vancomycin and AgNP surface interaction. Ag + ions or AgNPs are released by a complex that is bounded with the bacteria [ 16 ]. AgNPs become poisonous when they bind to the phosphorous in DNA and the sulfur in proteins.…”

“…Protein interaction network analysis and KEGG enrichment analysis showed that the functional proteins corresponding to the fve genes CDK2, E2F1, CDKN1A, CDK1, and CCND1 and CCNB1 may be the key proteins for the compound to play the role of hypoglycemic; the KEGG enrichment analysis obtained seven signal pathways: protein domain specifc binding, protein homodimerization activity, protein kinase activity, DNA-binding transcription factor binding, ligase activity, cyclin-dependent protein serineL-amino acid transmembrane transporter activity, calcium ion binding, and amino acid binding. At present, the compound drug researched by Quazi et al has proved that the extract possesses numerous classes of chemicals such as alkaloids, glycosides, tannins, polyphenols, and terpenoids, which can contribute to the antidiabetic activity through alpha-amylase inhibition [12,13].…”
