Assessment of Antibacterial Capability of Rhamnolipids Produced by Two Indigenous Pseudomonas aeruginosa Strains

Abstract: This study shows that rhamnolipid mixtures of MR01 and MASH1 have antimicrobial efficacy against Gram positive bacteria and may be evaluated as antimicrobial agent against multidrugresistant clinical pathogenic isolates. Background:In recent decades, biological properties of biosurfactants, particularly glycolipids, including antimicrobial, antifungal, and anti-cellular effects have been projected in many research studies. The unique advantages of these compounds in terms of production and environment made the… Show more

“…Among the most used techniques of extraction of glycolipids, we can present the acid precipitation, the solvent extraction and foam fractionation. [88][89][90] For purification, various strategies were developed such as membrane ultrafiltration techniques 91 , ionic exchange chromatography 92 and adsorption-desorption on resins 93 and adsorption-desorption on wood activated carbon like Charcoal. 94 Also, developed techniques like high performance liquid chromatography, hydrophobic interaction chromatography 48 and gel filtration 95 are well used to fractionate and purify glycolipids compounds.…”
