Zoonotic infections, which can develop into life-threatening conditions, should not be taken lightly. Despite the rising number of pet owners, knowledge of zoonotic diseases and children's behaviour when associating with pets at home remains limited. In Malaysia, few studies have investigated children's knowledge of zoonotic diseases and personal hygiene practices while caring for pets at home. Therefore, this focused on item development, validation, and analysis to assess content validity, acceptability, and contribution to internal consistency for age appropriateness among children. A pre-validation questionnaire was validated on two primary domains, knowledge, and behaviour, by subject matter experts (SME) specialising in zoonoses. A total of 66 children were selected to answer 14 dichotomous scale questions, with the responses subjected to further analysis. The post-validation process was performed by assessing the item suitability for the target group. Several items in the instrument should be modified. Meanwhile, some items should be retained due to the significance in evaluating the knowledge of disease transmission among children. The rationale underlying this modification stemmed from prior research findings and expert feedback. The final self-reporting instrument, Cognitive Affective Behaviours – Institute for Health Behavioural Research- Zoonoses Children-01 (CAB-IHBR-Zoonoses C-01), includes 10 items with adequate content coverage, acceptable qualities, and favourable expert reviews.

The aim of this paper is to discuss the several dominant research approaches incorporated by the intercultural researchers of the past. These approac hes are elaborated into two different manners. Firstly, an overview of the six prominent theoretical approac hes is discussed briefly along with the lac king and culture-specific elements in the approaches are witnessed. S econdly, culture general approaches are considered with their importance in the research prac tice regarding their culture general nature. Following with the remarkable c ontributions towards the c urrent body of knowledge by Lily A. Arasaratnam in intercultural communication competence (ICC). In addition, it is also pointed out that how she developed such culture general models of ICC with a thorough discussion on the series of her culture general models. It is noticed from the literature on intercultural competence that previous approaches and culture general model are mostly addressed in the Western c ontext. Even though context does matter a lot in the intercultural research. Therefore, it is suggested to explore these approaches and c ulture general models of multiple cultural perspec tives, especially in Non-Western contexts to validate their culture-general nature.

This study aims to determine the relationship between the preferred value of their children aged 5-6 and their mothers' values, as well as the values they would like to transfer to their children. The study group consisted of 390 kindergarten children and their mothers from 11 preschools in Bursa. The Picture-Based Value Survey for Children, developed by Döring (2008), was used to ascertain children's preferred values. The Portrait Values Questionnaire, developed by Schwartz et al. (2001), was used to find out the personal values of mothers. The Value Transfer Survey, developed by Demirutku ( 2007), was used to ascertain the values they would like to transfer to their children. In this research, a relational scanning model was used. In the results, the mother's values significantly differ from their working status and age variables. Also, children's preferred values differ according to gender, socioeconomic status, and mother's educational and employment status. According to the findings, "Universalism" is the most essential value in a mother's values; however, they emphasize "Achievement" value in conveying values to their children. İn addition, to the preferred values of the children, it was seen that the value of "Achievement" was preferred the most. As a result, the relationship between mothers' children's values, it was determined that they mostly took their mother's values as a model.
