Assessment and Spatial-Temporal Evolution Analysis of Land Use Conflict within Urban Spatial Zoning: Case of the Su-Xi-Chang Region

Abstract: As China rapidly urbanizes, land resources tend to deplete. This paper aims to identify and propose a resolution of land use conflicts to promote sustainable land use and coordinate the interaction between humans and the environment in urban areas. The methodology of land use conflict assessment within spatial zoning of the Su–Xi–Chang region was evaluated. Taking into consideration the intensity of human activities and the background condition of the natural environment, we divided the study area into a few r… Show more

“…In the study of spatial zoning, most concentrated in land use zoning (Qiu et al, 2022), territorial zoning (Torre and Darly, 2014), functional zoning (Liu et al, 2018), main functional area (Yang et al,2020) and comprehensive zoning (Hersperger et al,2015). The applied research methods mostly take the quantitative evaluation results as the zoning basis, such as the entropy value method (Zhou et al, 2017), hierarchical analysis (Morales and de Vries, 2021) or multifactor comprehensive evaluation method (Song et al, 2020), however, these studies ignoring the spatial connectivity and the integrity of administrative division, which directly affects the effect of land use zoning management.…”
