Surgical correction of moderate to severe laryngeal stenosis can be achieved by complete bisection of the larynx and insertion of rib or cartilage obtained from the nasal septum or thyroid ala posteriorly separating the stenosed cricoid cartilage, and if necessary, anteriorly separating the front of the larynx 14 . The procedure has a high success rate but was unfortunately considered too risky in our patient in view of her obesity and co-morbid pathology.…”
