Abstract: Vicarious trauma occurs when one is exposed to the traumatic experiences of another. This exposure is particularly prevalent among first responderslaw enforcement, firefighters, emergency medical services and victim assistance providerswhere the lines between vicarious trauma and direct trauma are thin.
