Assessing the Anti-inflammatory Mechanism of Reduning Injection by Network Pharmacology

Abstract: Reduning Injection (RDNI) is a traditional Chinese medicine formula indicated for the treatment of inflammatory diseases. However, the molecular mechanism of RDNI is unclear. The information of RDNI ingredients was collected from previous studies. Targets of them were obtained by data mining and molecular docking. The information of targets and related pathways was collected in UniProt and KEGG. Networks were constructed and analyzed by Cytoscape to identify key compounds, targets, and pathways. Data mining an… Show more

“…Gardenia can conduct toxin down, eliminate the fire of Sanjiao, and enhance the detoxification effect of honeysuckle, and modern pharmacological research believes that it has anti-inflammatory, antiviral, cooling and antipyretic effects. Artemisia can relieve exterior syndrome, clear away the heat, and the main component of Artemisia annua has anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, analgesic, and immunity-enhancing effects, and artemisinin and artemether have the function of promoting the proliferation of spleen T lymphocytes, and exert direct effect in inactivating and inhibiting proliferation of influenza virus [ 21 , 22 ].…”

“…The antipyretic mechanism of RDN might be related to the regulation of biosynthesis as well as sphingolipid metabolism of valine, leucine, and isoleucine (Gao et al, 2020). In addition, RDN was reported to possess anti-inflammatory and antiviral effects (Cao et al, 2015;Xie et al, 2020;Xu et al, 2021), which might work in treating acute tonsillitis. SHL is made from active ingredients of Forsythia suspensa (Thunb.)…”
